There's only so many time new "special moves" can wow an audience before it's a hackneyed process. And to top it off at the end another character (a character we were led to believe is the only honorable fighter) rapes someone we've been led to dislike, although in retrospect the victim was one of the more likeable characters. But the main character goes out of her way to save his life while Kido (a traumatized guy who truly cares) is ripped to shreds without a blink of sympathy after. He's a serial rapist, not just an implied one. To illustrate this one terrible path the anime took, take the snake guy. None of the characters are fully fleshed out, the technology behind the mutation process is skimmed over, factions are not differentiated from each other, and the ending was a cop-out. Imagine someone binging on youtube animal fight scenes with a bit of a furry interest and you have this show. However, the English dub by FUNimation Entertainment does not feature these new scenes as they didn't have them in their home video releases.
